Freetown’s cabins recall the birth of the colony – in pictures

Scattered across Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, stand ageing wooden houses cabins built in the style of 18th century East Coast America. These board houses are a reminder of the country’s past as a colony that was established for freed slaves – photos by Finbarr O’Reilly.
